American Girl Store Visit

The have been saving for a few months to buy American Girl dolls.  They saved birthday money, sold toys they didn't play with, and did chores around the house.  About three weeks ago we went up to Washington to go to the American Girl store in Seattle.  The girls were so excited.  I was so excited for them.  Before we got to the store Makenzie had decided to get Molly and Madison had decided on Kit.  The girls loved buying their dolls.  I think they were a little overwhelmed at the magnitude of the store at first.  They loved finding their dolls and then looking at all of the accessories.  Grandma helped the girls get their dolls ears pierced and bought them a couple of accessories.   She also made the girls lots of doll outfits ahead of time.  I am so thankful for her talent!
I was not sure if the girls were too young for the dolls, but honestly I just couldn't want to wait for this experience.  I am so glad we didn't.  The girls love the dolls, they play pretend with them and dress them up constantly and want to take them everywhere.  If we had waited until they were older, it wouldn't have been the same.  They would still like them, I got mine when I was 9 and I loved her, but I am glad we got them their first doll when they were younger.

So I finally figured out that the easiest way to solve my blog issue was to create an entirely new blog.  This blog will still be here, but all updates will be made on the new blog:

Sorry for the lack of posts...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...apparently I have reached my limit with posting pictures.  I am trying to figure out the best option from here on out.  I can pay monthly (yuck), start a new blog, or try to figure out a way to keep this one without paying (first choice).  Hopefully I will be back up and running soon.

Ellie's Words @ 18 Months Old

Ellie's vocabulary is growing like crazy!
I can understand over half of what she says.  Crazy.  Also crazy is that today she is 18 months old!   We are well on our way to toddler years with hardly a hint of baby left.  Tear.
Some of Ellie's Favorites:
Daddy (not dada)
Mommy (not mama)
Papa (potty)
Poppy (popcorn)
Ba (cup of milk)
Wa (water)
"Yuk sound" (when she poops)
Paul (Pat the Bunny Book, She loves the Peek-a-boo Paul page)
Num-Num (Yum)
All Done
Whasat (What's That?)

The girls started an 8 week session of gymnastics last week.  I wanted to give them a chance to try it out and see if it is something they would like.  They love it!  They practice at home and keep asking when we get to go back.  In two practices I have already seen tons of improvement in their confidence and ability.  I love watching them practice. And the little gymnastics outfits are pretty cute too!

Family Service Day

Last Saturday our Church held a service day.  Families were encouraged to sign up for different service projects in the community.  Our family chose to serve by helping with the landscaping and yard work at a nearby city hall.  Josh and I decided that we would take all three girls and stay as long as we could.  The service project was three hours long, but I wasn't expecting to stay that long.  I figured that the girls would get tired of being outside after an hour or so.  I was wrong.  The girls loved serving alongside us.  They had a blast raking leaves and filling trash can after trash can with the leaves they raked.  They never whined or complained. They girls were happy and upbeat the entire three hours.   The morning was a perfect picture of the vision Josh and I have for our family.  We want the girls to grow up desiring to serve others and ultimately to share God's love by doing so.  I pray that there are many, many more moments like these for our family.

Family Time

Nothing brings me more joy than our little family and the simple things we do together!
