Keizer Lights

Last night after Josh's work Christmas Party we stopped by Starbucks to get everyone hot chocolate and then headed to the Keizer Lights route.  It was past the girls bedtime but we thought we would give it a shot.  It was the first time any of us had driven through it.  I had hoped that we would make it up to Zoo Lights this year, but the hour drive each way, walking around in cold and rainy weather and high price made sitting in our car and viewing lights 10 minutes from our house MUCH more appealing.  The girls loved seeing all of the houses decorated with bright, flashing lights.  Every time Kenzie saw a snowman (which was often) she broke out in song.  "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Frosty the snow man..."  For some reason she has started counting to five before she begins singing anything.  The girls also really like the Santa displays and Tigger and Winnie the Pooh.  I loved the simplicity of this family outing and how much joy it brought us all.  It cost us only $7.00 (for the hot chocolate) and maybe a dollar for gas in our 40 mile to the gallon Yaris...  We were all together, enjoying the same thing at the same time, and having good conversation.  This is most definitely getting added to the Thorp Family Tradition list.
