Last night Josh woke up to Madison whimpering. She wasn't crying so he almost didn't go in an check on her. He did though, and he found her sitting on the floor covered in blood. A lot of blood. She had cut her lip and had a bloody nose. She said she had fallen out of bed. The weird thing is that her bed is currently a mattress on the ground, as our bunk beds are getting delivered today. Though, after this morning's events I am a bit hesitant about assembling them just yet. Maddie slept on our floor for the rest of the night. In the morning we called the doctor and they told us to come in. After looking at her lip they sent her to the ER. She handled everything amazingly well, up until they gave her the numbing shot. I stood outside the door with Kenzie while Josh stayed by her side. To keep her from moving around they wrapped her in a sheet like a little burrito. She got 4 stitches and at the end they gave her a little stuffed giraffe. It was so hard waiting, knowing that she was going to be in pain, and then to stand outside the door having to listen to her scream. She was a trooper. On the way to the ER Maddie said, "I don't need to go to the doctor, Jesus heals cuts really fast." When they put her wristband on at the ER and then scanned it she said, "Silly, the just tried to buy me." I am so glad Josh was able to be there. Just before I called the doctor to see if they wanted us to come in, Josh had gotten a sub call, which he turned down, which he never does. He is so amazing when it comes to comforting the girls. With having to keep and eye on Kenzie and my extremely weak stomach I definitely could not have been as much as a comfort as Josh was for Madison. God's provision is clear in His leading Josh turn down the sub job and being able to be there for Maddie.
To celebrate her bravery we are going to Chuck E Cheese's after nap!
